New LPIC 1 Objectives Effective 1st April 2009
To obtain Junior Level Linux Professional two courses and exams need to be completed: LPI101 and LPI102. The LPI 101 and LPI 102 are the most popular training tracks.
The LPI 101 tests basic capabilities in these areas:
Hardware & Architecture, Linux Installation & Package Management, GNU & Unix commands, Devices, Linux File systems, File system Hierarchy Standard, The X Window System.
The LPI 102 tests basic capabilities in these areas:
Kernel, Boot, Initialization, Shutdown and Runlevels, Printing, Documentation, Shells, Scripting, Programming, and Compiling, Administrative Tasks, Networking Fundamentals, Networking Services, Security.
